Celestron 45-Degree Erect Diagonal (1.25") Celestron 45-Degree Erect Diagonal (1.25")

Celestron's erect image diagonals are Amici prism designs, allowing you to look into the telescope at a 45° angle at images which are upright and laterally correct. This is extremely comfortable for terrestrial viewing or when sharing the viewing experience between those of varying heights, and comes at the expense of a loss in brightness versus a 90° diagonal-which would show images upright but laterally reversed.

Accepts 1.25" filters for astronomical and terrestrial applications

Celestron Sky Map - Planisphere Celestron Sky Map - Planisphere

The Celestron Sky Map provides a fun way to read the night sky, and is an ideal teaching guide. Just as you wouldn't set off upon a road trip without a road map, you needn't try navigating the night sky without a map either. Even if you're experienced around major constellations, these maps help locate all kinds of fascinating objects.

The front cover has a specially designed luminous planisphere that rotates to simulate the seasonal progression of celestial objects through the sky. When the planisphere is pre-exposed to light, star positions glow brightly against a dark background-mimicking actual constellations. More than a thousand stars and deep-sky objects are listed and charted. The illustrated reference section provides basic information and the visual characteristics of various types of stars, nebulae and galaxies.

To use, hold the map above your head with the arrow facing celestial north. Turn the dial to the present date and time, and the map shows you exactly what is above you. Turn the dial as the hour changes to keep up with the orbiting sky show.
Please note - these maps are for use in the northern hemisphere only.

    Celestron NexStar 4SE 102mm f/13 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope Celestron NexStar 4SE 102mm f/13 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope

Celestron's NexStar 4SE 125mm f/13 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope is a powerful, versatile, and user-friendly catadioptric-style scope that can be used for observing everything from the Moon and planets to bright deep-sky objects like stars, galaxies, and nebulae. Using Celestron's proprietary StarBright XLT multi-coating system, light transmission is increased throughout the entire optical path with anti-reflection multi-coated lenses, highly reflective multi-coated mirrors, and crown optical glass elements. Similar to their Schmidt cousins, the Maksutov design exchanges the conventional front corrector plate with a convex meniscus lens, which results in a smaller secondary mirror—limiting obstruction and increasing contrast, while eliminating the need for periodic collimation. While the focal ratio is a relatively slow f/13, the scope's optical performance, added to the mount's precision tracking system and integrated equatorial wedge, allows it to be a competent astrophotography/imaging platform for the Moon and planets.

Driving the dual servo motors on the mount is the brain of the NexStar 4SE: the iconic NexStar+ computer hand controller. Packed with 40,000+ celestial objects, it can hold up to 100 additional user-defined destinations and is updatable via the Celestron website. It has multiple alignment procedures to get you observing fastincluding the super-easy SkyAlign system. Capable of being used in the Northern or Southern Hemispheres, the NexStar has sidereal, lunar, and solar tracking speeds to accurately follow near- and deep-sky objects, plus nine slew speeds and the ability to automatically trigger a camera's shutter release for Fastar or piggyback wide-field photography or conventional prime-focus astrophotography.

Celestron Variable Polarizing Filter (1.25") Celestron Variable Polarizing Filter (1.25")

The 1.25" Celestron Variable Polarizing Filter allows you to control the amount of light transmitted through to your eye so you can tailor it to the brightness of the object you're looking at—reducing the brightness and glare on celestial objects like the moon, Venus, and even bright double stars.

This filter does not alter the color of the object you're observing, making it a great choice for astroimaging, especially when imaging the surface of the Moon. By reducing the brightness, lunar details become more pronounced and defined. This filter can also be used to darken the blue-sky background when hunting for planets like Venus or Jupiter during daylight, making the planet stand out from the background. Simply rotate the filter's lower ring to adjust the light transmission from just 1% (blocking 99% of incoming light) up to as much as 40%. Having this level of control over the filtration allows you to precisely set it to a specific target and current viewing conditions so you can get the best view possible. Standard threads on both sides allow it to be installed on just about any 1.25" eyepiece, and stacked with color or specialty filters to further refine and enhance the viewing experience.

Celestron Night Vision Red LED Flashlight Celestron Night Vision Red LED Flashlight

Celestron's Night Vision Flashlight is a purpose-built astronomy illumination tool, that uses two red LEDs to preserve night-adjusted vision while providing light to set up, read/write notes, change eyepieces, or navigate. Its combined rotary variable brightness control/on-off switch allows you to adjust the brightness over a wide range up to 25 lumens.

At the maximum brightness setting, the emitted light is bright enough to locate dropped items or disassemble your telescope after observing. The medium brightness levels will properly illuminate a star chart without affecting your pupil's darkness-adapted dilation. At the lowest brightness setting, there's just enough light to determine a filter designation or an eyepiece's focal length.

The Night Vision Flashlight is powered by a single 9-volt battery that lasts for up to 12 hours on high and as much as 300 hours on low The supplied 20" (51 cm) cord allows you to hang the light around your neck when not in use.

Celestron 90-Degree Mirror Diagonal (2") for SCT Scopes Celestron 90-Degree Mirror Diagonal (2") for SCT Scopes

The Celestron 90-Degree Mirror Diagonal (2") is a star diagonal with StarBright XLT coating, for use with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with the 2"-18 threaded device.

Star diagonal is the term commonly associated with 90° mirror diagonals such as this, which let you view objects that are at a 90° angle from the direction the telescope is pointing. This allows quite comfortable viewing when the telescope is at or near the zenith (directly overhead), and is fairly comfortable when observing terrestrial imagery as well-albeit a bit unorthodox at first.

Celestron's erect image diagonals are Amici prism designs, meaning that images are upright and laterally correct. This design, however, instead renders images which are laterally reversed but are brighter than erect image diagonals. This diagonal is used with 2" focusers and can be used with either 2.00" or 1.25" eyepieces, thanks to the included adapter which reduces the eyepiece barrel diameter to accept the smaller size.
